The overall good things about this book and why I think everyone should read it is. I think it has a good storie line and it fits the characters well. Eric Walters is also a good writer that wont dissapoint when you are reading one of his novels.
If you like animals you would also enjoy this book cause it has plenty of them and who dosent like animals. Mrs Gardner I personally recomend this book to you because I know you like humor and you said you would like to read it somtime when you picked it out for me in the library.
And if we were to do this again I would most likley pick another Eric Walters book because they dont get confusing and the book makes you want to read it over and over again

Eric Walters is by far my favorite writer today. His books compele me because they are so wide ranged in what you want to read about. I also like in in all of his books how he gets you all
worked up in the beggining then makes it very sad the gradually makes it happy again.
But the main reason why he is my favorite author is that all of my elementary school teacher from grade 3 and up all read Eric Walters storie in english.
The best storie by eric walters in my oppinon is the trumpet swan. Its about a swan named Louie that has no voice and finds a trumpet and shocks everyone because of how good he can play it. And the point that hes trying to say is give everyone a chance and you could be impressed.

I think that Eric Walters is a very good writer of course. But here are some things that i think he could have improved on in this book.
I think that they should have given alot more detail on the break in at the school I didnt think there was enough. Plus it is the climax of the whole story. Another is that I would have made the story longer because I thought it was good and I didnt want it to end.And the final thing is that Eric Walters is known for really exciting and funny stories with humor, but I didnt think this one was like the others like the trumpet swan or charlottes web. The book has its ups and downs but I would still recomend people to read this book.

The main characters in this book are obviously Ricky , Augie , and Mr Johnston.
I like Ricky as the main Character and I didnt mind Augie. I like Ricky cause he showed the same similarities as Mr Johnston. The things he went throught to get the boa to his science teacher and and how much he cared for his pets in the classroom.
And Augie is a follower in my oppinion he is the sidekick to Rickys plans to get the boa back to
Mr Johnston. So that is one reason why I dont really like Augie.
And last but not least I did like Mr Johnston cause he showed alot of emotion when all of his animals got killed . And in the end when Ricky got him a new snake he felt alot better.

The nova scotia hero Terry Fox who ran across Canada with a fake leg to donate money and raise awareness about cancer.
He also has 25 other novels witch I find that are all intresting. And what I think that Eric Walters is trying to express from this book is that when somthing terrible has happend to other people you should do whatever it takes to help them get through it at all costs.

The storyline about the is a eighth grader name Ricky. He has always love animals after all, he shares his house with 29 weird and wonderful creatures. So when vandals break into his school and destroy many of his beloved science teachers animals including Rickys favorite Bogart the boa constricter, Ricky is then shocked. Now it's up to Ricky and his best freind Augie to devise a plan to raise money to replace Bogart-and to surprise mr Johnston the science teacher at the same time. Raising money is easy: whats tough is getting the rather large new reptile-who happens to be smart and slithery-safetly to school.

The book I was reading was called Ricky by Eric Walters. Had its ups and downs.
